Monty was born in Honolulu but raised in Syracuse, NY. (Like moving from Earth to Neptune.) After a very thorough Catholic school education he spent his 20’s in a variety of interesting jobs until he found he had an aptitude for computers.
Today, Monty is a husband and father of four amazing kids aged 30 to 18, and “Papa” to a brand new grand daughter, living in suburban Chicago. He enjoys photography, reading, cooking, travel, and of course, writing.
His writing heroes are Arthur C. Clarke, Roger Zelazny, Orson Scott Card, David Wingrove, and C.S Lewis.

A friend of mine shared “Dropping Some Truth” on Facebook and I just had to let you know how much I enjoyed it. I actually may share it at a current events meeting this afternoon at a predominately Republican upscale retirement community. I love to stir the pot!

Mr. Fowler –
Today I read your rant. I only wish you the ear of every voter. They may not change their minds but they would know what their votes mean. I am going to share.

I don’t often ‘share’ posts on Facebook. I felt compelled to share your rant. I hope I can open some eyes.

I read your rant today and while you make many valid points, please help me understand the comments in your second to last paragraph. You stated that we have enough money to house every veteran, feed every child, take in more immigrants and still have money left to buy a bucket of KFC. How did you arrive at that conclusion? I live in Toledo, Ohio… In between two other formerly-great American cities… Detroit and Cleveland. Toledo can’t afford to fill potholes in the streets, nor open the city swimming pools (without asking for corporate donations). Where is all this money of which you speak? I really want to know. Thank you.

If we were to end corporate welfare, tax Wall Street like we did under Reagan, and end unwanted military programs, we could afford that and much more.

Monte we have opened the borders to anyone who wants to drop in,this is out of control, and someone has to step up and stop this. We cannot take care of the whole world! It does not make sense that the poor can move somewhere if the neighbor hood becomes bad! They have to be able to have better jobs, more income. Yes the govt. has not taken steps to make people that come into our country speak our language either that causes a lot of problems ,a lack of a united people for sure.Yes the illegals need to move on with their families. I have no place for your rants and Raving. We must take our country back, be realistic. My prayers are for Trump could be that man.

I loved the “rant.” It summed up my feelings about the election and our country. I, too, believe we haven’t lost our country; rather, many folks have lost their souls. Too bad I waited to elect to follow your blog until now. I have lots of reading to do to catch up.

Just found this blog, quite refreshing to know that there is a voice of reason out there. I was really beginning to feel that everybody had lost their minds. It’s time for American people to quit being such whiny babies and be grateful for the country they live in. This is the best place to live in the entire world, but we can sure do better!
