You start out lying in the FIRST sentence. You say you are about to be politically incorrect and then proceed to spew the cancer of Political Correctness to and fro. The really deadly form of PC. The kind that killed 13 at Fort Hood. Then you start talking about facts but really, EVERYTHING you say is YOUR opinion. If you lived where Illegal Mexicans had destroyed the neighborhoods, shot property taxes sky high and property values down low, drove down wages and made emergency room visits 12 hour waits as they use it for primary care, as well as killing people drunk driving in 500 dollar cars DAILY. Then you would probably not throw around words like “xenophobia”. The first time you drive through YOUR neighborhood and see houses for sale with the FOR SALE sign in SPANISH and NOTHING on the sign in English, It makes being a bleeding heart a little harder. I can imagine if you live in Maine or up on the Canadian shield or in Wisconsin, that Mexicans have not had much impact on your world. No one is as much a hypocrite as the committed liberal. Hillary wants to raise everyone’s taxes and she took donations of used underwear to goodwill off her taxes. I want them out of the shadows also. So it will be easier to deport them.

I have been handed reading and communications awards since I was 6. I listen to at least one book on CD a week and read another paper book a week and also do a fair bit of writing. Many of the books I read, like Patrick O’brian, require a Lexicon to understand the text (A special dictionary). I am in discussion groups on line with PHD’s all over the world. I have been a committed reader for at least FIFTY YEARS. The smart assed snarky stuff about reading is offensive as hell…Being a social Conservative does not make one Illiterate. Mr. Fowler, You should read some Thomas Sowell or William F. Buckley or Mark Steyn or Ben Shapiro. Or Ann Coulter or……… I could go on forever. I just love it when people who get their opinions from the N.Y. Times and MSNBC give lectures to those who listen to Rush and Hannity. I DO get my opinions from reading and thinking. And I always have. MOST conservatives do.

There is a GIANT difference between leaving Homosexuals alone to do their thing and issuing them a license or letting them shower with our granddaughters. Or forcing churches, bakery’s, photographers, etc to participate or celebrate two hairy assed men with size 13 shoes deep kissing in front of an alter of god. I think many homosexuals are also prone to being pedophiles. Some of us will NEVER accept gay “marriage”. My state voted it down 80/20. Liberal California voted it down TWICE. And MILLIONS are so pissed about being sold out by big GOP, Fox news, Roves RINOS, The SCOTUS, etc, And used as vote mules for the rich, that they are going to vote in a orange faced carnival barker to get revenge. Global Warming? Yeah, I am one of those fools. People like you, Mr. Fowler, think Christian people (I’m not really religious but I do vote with them), You think Christian people who say, “God said it, I believe it and that settles it” are nuts. THEN…You say ‘Global warming (or climate change or the phrase of the day) is “settled science” so if you don’t believe it you are stupid. What on earth is the difference except for OPINION? By the way, Even if you believe the left wing climate change scientists (there are LOTS on the other side), THOSE SAME SCIENTISTS say that even if we all parked our cars and went back to the caves we could not do 1% of what needs to be done or even to offset the carbon of 2 good Volcano eruptions. As for MY opinion, I think Green is the new RED. I think communism failed and it is simply a new way to redistribute wealth. There are well meaning Climate change folks. But most of them have a Christ complex. They have a problem because mummy or da -da like a sibling better or they never got around to writing that novel or somehow fell short in their own mind….But Hey…YOU CAN SAVE US ALL!!! That’s way more important than writing songs like Springsteen? Right? Wrong. They should save themselves and leave the rest of us alone. I think there is a much better chance of mankind dying out from a disease caused by homosexuals becoming airborne than global warming or cooling. But one day the earth will end. Unless you believe in a all powerful god and that’s a matter of faith that I am not qualified to address.

What on earth qualifies you to speak about our Military? I did 22 years. Most of it in the recruiting business. I have some idea. Morale is at it’s lowest point since the worst days of Nam. Corrupt social engineering and cutting funds have gutted it. Our military has been forignized, feminized and homosexualized to death. The lies that were told about troop surveys that NEVER happened and the cherry picking of the few that did in order to illegally repeal DADT is the single worse thing this country has EVER done. Chuck Halgel was Obama’s first SOD. In his book Hagel openly admits that Obama had little interest in the military except to force the kids who fight our wars to do so under openly homosexual Commanders and NCO’s. Just what a quality 18 yr old boy wants to hear. Maybe not. Wow. Hagle’s replacement, Leon Panetta was the first in HISTORY to allow the uniform of the armed forced to be worn in a political parade. A GAY PRIDE PARADE. And our ships at sea have been turned into floating brothels as females are put in positions of combat and sea duty for which they are not qualified. People have died and will die because of this failed social experiment. California politicians wangle their way onto appropriations committees and trade funding for Eloi left rule changes. People with names like Pelosi, Boxer, Waters, Feinstein, etc, push women into combat jobs that they do not and never will quality for. Morale sucks. And the best are not enlisting anymore. I don’t blame them. No way I would have served in a Air Force where my First Sgt, Frank Smith would be in his uniform in the morning and show up at the NCO club in a evening gown and size 14 pink pumps that night. The kicker? One little snicker gets you busted or thrown out……No amount of counseling will erase the picture in my mind of the peoples White house lit in rainbow the night “Justice” Kennedy decided to vote for gay marriage. If Kennedy wakes up in the right mood, soon a 50 year old man can marry a 8 year old boy. Or his chain saw. Or his pet hedgehog. Or all of them at once.

The one thing I agree with you about is the religious stuff and the get rich stuff on face book. But it’s easy to get rid of and easy to keep away from it. And I am leery of those, like you, who want to tell people what face book is for. Some people think it was created so they would have a place to show the world pictures of their kids or grand kids. Or to put pics of themselves they think are flattering and fish for compliments, etc. Some of the pious want to evangelize and preach their religion. Some like to argue politics. Surely you are one of those, albeit in a cowardly way because you would be destroyed in a debate by ANY committed conservative of average intelligence.

I’m typically considered a fiscal conservative (and we ARE running out of money) and a social moderate. I don’t care much for the doctrinaire extreme right wing. I care equally little for those who feel the need to lecture me and others on every liberal point. When you instruct your readers to form their own opinions and then state, as fact, every stereotype liberal position with no exceptions, I’m suspicious that you don’t take your own advice. Also, you speak from an assumed position of being completely right, e.g. your statement the “And you are probably a little racist and should work on that”

A point-by-point rebuttal would be tedious and wasteful of time. However, there are some assumptions you make that are dead wrong……

1) You certainly imply that conservatives (or anyone who disagrees with you) totally reject climate change. It’s difficult to reject something that has been happening for millions of years and is well-documented. What some of us reject is the sudden crisis that has been pressed on us by self-appointed entertainer/scientists that justified the Obama giveaway to his friends and supporters (Solyndra, community organizers squirting caulk into windows at exhorbitant prices…) There is climate change, and there is legitimate debate as to the nature and pace of it.

2) Regarding your all-seeing, all-knowing statements about firearms, you are correct that none of us live in Mogadishu or Jerusalem, but the number of crimes that are stopped or deterred either by firearms or by the potential of residents prepared to defend themselves is immense. We are not far from the British circumstance of having constables come around a day or two after a crime to take a report; actually that is common in this country as well in large urban areas.

I own firearms; my wife and I know how to use them if the need arises. I don’t hunt but I do shoot in competition, a quite legitimate sport. You are not compelled to have one, and I’m happy that you live in a place where you can leave your doors unlocked.

3) Regarding race and sexual orientation…..you make the common mistake of confusing racism and prejudice. Perhaps you should define your terms. I don’t like and don’t associate with racist people….defined as you might agree as holding the opinion that ALL members of an identified racial group are genetically inferior to a significant degree and, by implication, should be treated differently. Educated liberals and conservatives don’t have those feelings. To the contrary, my belief is in treating people equally. To the extent that I don’t respect or like, extreme right-wingers or knee-jerk liberals, I also reserve the right to not like gang-bangers or wannabes and to feel that their own community has let them down.

4) Few people have made blanket statements about all Muslims. The big “howevers” are that there is a global conflict that has come to our shores perpetrated by SOME Muslims, and that Christians have been a favored target for murder in the Middle East. Not debatable facts. You cite our strong military, yet the Obama administration and the hapless Clinton/Kerry State Department has routinely botched their efforts.

By implication, your position is that there are no problems in our society, in our country, or in our influence on the world that are not the result of conservative forces. An oversimplification and wrong, I think.

I would hope that many of your readers would see the condescending tone and self righteousness that permeates your comments.
