I need your help. My new short story “Layover” will be published shortly and I need your input on the cover design. I have so many amazing options for cover art that I just can’t decide. So…perhaps you’d like to help. Let me know which option you prefer in the comments below. Each person who responds will get a special mention in the foreword of the story. Thanks!

I’m immediately drawn to option 3. As all I know about the story is the title, I’d investigate further seeing the cover of 3. Hope that helps. I look forward to reading the story!

Not sure what the story is about, but I like number 1 as it seems to be different ways of looking at things or different choices.

I think that you should use a picture at a counter at the airport where you have to wait for a flight or at the Eifel tower where you layover a flight to tour France.

I like 2

Option 2 draws me in, even without knowing the details of the story. It strikes me that the story would be more humanistic where the other covers seem cyber-related. If the story has a Sci-Fi theme the other options might be better (with the exception of Option 5 which is a little unnerving).

Option 4

Any but 5. Option 4 has a wonderful, atmospheric, clean look. But all are wonderful.

I like #5, probably because I think this would be cool, http://www.earthporm.com/bye-bye-coffins-these-organic-burial-pods-turn-your-loved-ones-into-trees/. I might have a different opinion if I knew more about The Layover.

My attention kept returning to Option 2. I think it’s the empty chair that intriques me. Similarly, the missing person in Option 3 has it a close second.

Without knowing the story-line (which can drive the artwork), I like Options 2 & 3. Both are “missing” someone, which intrigues me to read on (between the two, I’d go with Option#3)…Best of luck, Monty!!! I’m sure it will be awesome!

Option 3…clean, intriguing and atmospheric. Good luck with the short story LaMonte, whatever it’s about!
